About The Team
Our international and agile team is looking for support from a motivated person as an EWIS Design Engineer (f/m/d).
This is your opportunity to be closely involved in the challenging development of prototypes and time‑and‑cost‑critical test campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Develop electro‑mechanical designs for multi‑branch avionics harness in 2D and 3D.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary stakeholders to gather harness design objectives and requirements.
- Create and release electrical schematics to support both flight and ground test designs on schedule.
- Specify and select connectors, backshells, wires, cable jackets, and termination methods to meet mechanical, thermal, and electrical requirements.
- Conduct analysis and physical testing of harnessing systems to evaluate mechanical, thermal and electrical performance.
- Generate and manage BOMs, wire run lists, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Work with integration teams to validate harness fit, routing, and installation.
- Support functional testing and troubleshooting during vehicle integration and flight readiness campaigns.
- Perform R&D investigations and trade studies to push wire harness design to new boundaries in terms of mass and cost savings.
- Take technical and operational ownership for flight‑quality documentation and interface compliance.
Qualifications
- B. S. or M. S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant experience (2–5 years) in harness design for aerospace, automotive or high‑reliability systems and motivation to participate in New Space.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD and harness modelling tools (Rapid Harness preferred).
- Hands‑on experience with formboard design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of wire harnesses in hardware environments.
- Experience with industry best‑practices, workmanship quality and wiring standards.
- Disciplined with documentation and understand the value of configuration control, traceability, and design reviews.
- Thrive in an environment where autonomy, accountability, and high standards are expected.
- Fluent oral and written English skills (all day‑to‑day activities are performed in English).
- Bonus: Experience with Siemens NX Electrical routing.
- Bonus: Familiarity with electrical load analysis and power distribution sizing.
- Bonus: Working knowledge of relevant environmental tests and qualification standards (e. g., ECSS, MIL‑STD‑810, DO‑160).
