Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Development Engineer for our Sensing, Safety and Industrial Components Business. In this role you design and develop electromechanical components, primarily in the area of low‑voltage switching and protection devices, as well as related accessories. You contribute to technical investigations and feasibility studies for future products and solutions. You report to a local engineering manager but work in an international environment and within international development teams. You work on complex technical challenges that require in‑depth analysis and sound engineering judgment. You select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve robust results. You take ownership for a complete product, assembly, or sub‑assembly. You are able to see the big picture and understand the interfaces to other systems, products, assemblies, or sub‑assemblies. Key Responsibilities
Development of electromechanical switchgear and control gear and dedicated accessories in accordance with relevant international standards and internal procedures from feasibility to serial production readiness. Further development of legacy products to meet international standards and customer requirements. Establish, analyse, and select new product concepts. Plan and execute development tests with local test team. Create and maintain technical documentation. Support industrialization with production equipment and test equipment. Identify and evaluate new technologies and methods for the specific area of expertise. Perform and support benchmarking activities of competitors products. Requirements
University degree in mechanical design or equivalent. Several years of experience in the development of mechanical products (plastic and metal parts). Skilled in CAD and PLM Systems (CREO and Windchill are advantageous). Familiarity with international product standards such as UL, IEC, etc. Experience working in international teams (also remote). Fluent in writing and speaking in either German or English (both preferred). Cultural awareness/sensitivity in dealings across regions/geographies. High level of resiliency. Good communication skills across all levels. Decide on job relevant decisions in time. Comfortable working in an international team environment with people from different cultures, languages and locations. Benefits
