Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a “Senior Customer Quality Manager (f/m/d)” to join the Rolls-Royce Deutschland Quality team, reporting to the Vice President Quality. In this role you will provide leadership and direction on Quality to the Business Aviation Programmes organisation in line with the defined quality strategy, enabling the business to achieve its goals, enhance its reputation and deliver customer satisfaction.

The role is located in Dahlewitz (D) and comprises the full breadth of Business Aviation Programmes including the activities at our remote locations near the customers e.g. in Savannah (US) and Merignac (France).

In this role, you will be directly leading a small team of Customer Quality Managers but also influence the achievement of the quality and improvement objectives as part of the wider Business Aviation Programmes team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the senior level customer relationships regarding quality
  • Manage a team of Customer Quality Managers, integrating and prioritising tasks and providing leadership on high profile issues where required
  • Ensure relevant law/regulation, customer requirements and business strategy are understood and complied with, both internally and externally
  • Develop the people capability and culture to ensure process compliance and to meet regulatory, customer and business requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Quality and implementing plans to deliver that improvement
  • Provide reports, data and insight related to Quality into the relevant governance reviews
  • Drive change to the Management/Operating System to mitigate risks, maximise effectiveness and eliminate waste
  • Enable Right First Time through the coaching and application of error prevention methodologies, reducing the risks from technical, human and organisational factors
  • Protect the business and the customer through enacting/coaching the correct intervention approaches and lead the resolution of high impacting & complex problems including all related system transactions

Key Experiences and any Qualifications:

  • University degree in engineering / industrial engineering or quality management
  • Comprehensive working experience relevant to Aerospace Quality
  • Proven track record of problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies, e.g.; 8D, Six Sigma & Lean
  • Well-developed customer and relationship management skills to work as part of the Business and Quality Leadership team, and with other internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, coaching and decision-making skills in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Competent on the relevant international regulations and standards (e.g. PART 21, AS9100 etc.)
  • Business Acumen and sound understanding of the full value stream from manufacturing to the aftermarket
  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
