Job Description:

HR Manager

Location: Graubünden, Switzerland

Employment: Full-time, permanent

Start Date: Ideally second half of November 2026

Industry: 4 Superior Hospitality

Work Model: Fully on-site

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced and hands-on HR Manager for an established 4-star superior hotel in Switzerland.

This is a key on-site HR position with responsibility for supporting the hotel's employees and approximately 10 Heads of Department / line managers within a traditional hotel management structure.

The hotel operates seasonally with approximately 40 employees during the summer season, increasing to around 80 employees during the winter season.

The current HR Manager, is leaving to pursue a new career path and will finish at the end of November 2026. Ideally, the new HR Manager will start during the second half of November, allowing for a smooth transition and handover.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Manager will take responsibility for the hotel's day-to-day HR function and the complete employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage recruitment across all hotel departments.
  • Work closely with approximately 10 Heads of Department to understand and fulfil their staffing requirements.
  • Manage the recruitment process from vacancy identification through candidate selection and hiring.
  • Coordinate contracts and employee HR documentation.
  • Manage employee onboarding and integration.
  • Oversee general HR administration.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding and exit processes.
  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and departmental managers.
  • Advise and support Heads of Department with employee-related matters.
  • Support seasonal workforce planning, particularly ahead of the larger winter operation.
  • Support talent development and employee retention.
  • Maintain effective HR processes and employee records.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Group HR function.
  • Collaborate with the central payroll team regarding relevant employee information.
  • Contribute to a positive employee experience and working culture throughout the hotel.

Reporting Structure

The HR Manager reports:

  • On-site: General Manager
  • HR / Group level: Group Director of HR

There is no separate internal recruitment team. Recruitment is managed directly by the HR Manager in collaboration with the hotel's Heads of Department.

A separate payroll team handles salary payments, payroll and taxes. Therefore, the HR Manager is not expected to independently manage the hotel's payroll function.

Team & Hotel Structure

The hotel has a traditional departmental management structure with approximately:

  • 10 Heads of Department / line managers
  • 40 employees during summer
  • 80 employees during winter

Working Hours

This is a five-day working week with a contractual workload of approximately 189 hours per month.

Working hours are flexible according to operational requirements and hotel demand. As this is an on-site hospitality management position, the HR Manager should be comfortable adapting their schedule when required by the operation.

The position is fully on-site and is not offered as a hybrid or remote position.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone with a strong combination of HR knowledge, recruitment capability and interpersonal skills.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous professional experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience within hospitality, hotels or another service-oriented environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong hands-on recruitment experience.
  • Experience managing the complete employee lifecycle.
  • Good knowledge of HR administration and employment processes.
  • Confidence working independently as the main on-site HR contact.
  • Experience supporting multiple departmental managers simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • An approachable and solution-oriented personality.
  • The ability to work effectively with employees from a wide variety of nationalities, backgrounds and seniority levels.
  • Knowledge of Swiss HR practices and employment requirements would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong German and good English communication skills.

The staff accommodation is generally used by junior employees. Heads of Department and senior management are encouraged to find their own apartment in Flims or the surrounding area.

The hotel is willing to assist the successful candidate in finding private accommodation.

Local Transportation

Most hotel employees use public transportation locally.

Employees who both live and work within the destination benefit from free local public transportation, making a car unnecessary for many day-to-day journeys.

This role would suit an HR professional who enjoys being close to the operation and its people.

Rather than working within a large corporate HR department, you will be the hotel's principal on-site HR contact, working directly with approximately 10 departmental managers and supporting a workforce that grows substantially during the winter season.

It is particularly suited to someone who enjoys recruitment, employee interaction and taking ownership of the full HR lifecycle while still having the support of a wider group HR structure and centralised payroll function.

Benefits:

  • Free or subsidised travel
  • Work Location: In person
