RWE Supply & Trading is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials and is a leading European energy trading house. The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Team is positioned within RWEST IT with members located across Essen (Germany) and Swindon (UK). The SRE Engineer role focuses on providing and maintaining infrastructures & applications with an emphasis on cloud-native tools, maintenance/coordination of releases, and governance.

Your responsibilities:

1. Good understanding of monitoring/observability solutions across distributed systems.
2. Knowledge & experience with setting up Observability stack for applications (Elastic or AWS Managed solutions).
3. DevOps and Cloud: Automate the build, test, and deployment of different components with Azure DevOps pipelines.
4. Expertise knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
5. Profound understanding of Infrastructure designs (AWS).
6. Knowledge on ADO dashboards, Jfrog artifactory, Power BI tools, etc.
7. Ownership of infrastructure-related tasks (create support model, request Infrastructure, apply Service Level Agreement requirements, effort planning, presentation to internal Technology Forums).
8. IT Service Continuity Management (create or support Business on disaster recovery descriptions, ensure Service Continuity for critical services).
9. Involvement in migration of legacy applications to Cloud-based projects (AWS) / Multi-account setup etc.
10. Communication management towards business stakeholders.
11. Play a coordinating role in change, incident, problem, knowledge management activities.
12. Guide, consult, and advise other DevOps Engineers.

Your profile:

1. Development/Refinement of relevant Standard Operating Procedure (end-to-end IT Service Management process).
2. Experience in working with any Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure).
3. Proficient in Terraform/CloudFormation.
4. Good working experience in Observability solutions (Elastic, Cloud Trail, Cloudwatch).
5. Fundamental experience in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab or similar).
6. Working experience with YAML pipelines, Jenkins or similar.
7. Good understanding of ITIL processes.
8. Ability to work well under pressure and strong communication skills.
9. Very high motivation to learn and grow.
10. Experience in Cloud Native environment in AWS Multi-account setup, EC2, Kubernetes, Containerization, Docker, S3 buckets etc.

Advantageous:

1. Patching solutions (Jet Patch, AWS Patch manager).
2. Programming skills (Java, C#).
3. Profound scripting skills (e.g. in Shell, Python, Bash, JSON).
