Offer Description
Applications are invited for a PhD position (3 years, 66% TVL E13, Munz Group) in Molecular Inorganic Chemistry. Your project will target carbide and carbyne transfer focusing on either (i) organic reagents for carbon atom transfer, (ii) carbon-based diradicals for optoelectronics, or (iii) transition metal carbide complexes and clusters for small-molecule and bond activation.

Eligibility criteria
Curiosity and motivation to acquire and generate new knowledge and pushing the frontiers of science:
- Dedication for excellence and scientific enthusiasm
- Good team spirit and open mindedness
- Experience in synthesis, experience in handling air-sensitive compounds
- Experience in characterization and synthesis of solid-state materials is a plus
- Experience in mechanochemistry is a plus
- Knowledge of (or interest in) computational chemistry is a plus
- German language skills are desirable, yet not mandatory
