Overview
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you implement Salesforce Data 360 in customer environments to unify real-time data across sources. You translate designs into production-grade data pipelines, AI integration layers, and secure data practices for enterprise workloads. You work closely with architects, customer teams, and partners to deliver measurable value and a smooth handoff. This role combines hands-on data engineering with customer-focused delivery at scale, grounded in Salesforce’s Agentforce and Data Cloud initiatives.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Build in customer environments using Data 360 and related tooling (SQL, Apex, Flow, Python, REST APIs, Salesforce DX, CLI, Git)
- Engineer the data layer: ingestion, harmonization, identity resolution for batch/streaming sources
- Prove correctness with representative test data and validate outcomes across edge cases and large-scale volumes
- Ground agents by architecting the AI data integration layer (RAG, vector databases, search indexes, knowledge bases)
- Orchestrate agent communication and MCP-based protocols for AI agents
- Connect Agentforce to diverse enterprise applications through scalable data integration patterns
- Govern data security, transformation, and governance across Salesforce ecosystem and external systems
- Build for scale and security: workflows, authentication/authorization (OAuth, SAML)
- Diagnose ingestion and schema issues with methodical troubleshooting and logging
- Own implementation decisions and tradeoffs in collaboration with the architect/lead
- Accelerate with AI using Data 360 APIs and MCP Servers
- Co-build with customer teams, pair programming, and handoff with runbooks and documentation
- Feed the roadmap with evidence of gaps and edge cases for product teams
- Deliver alongside customers, partners, or services in deadline-driven environments
- Engage with administrators, developers, data engineers, and architects in customer environments
- Obtain relevant Certifications in Salesforce Agentforce, Data 360, and Salesforce Platform
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 5+ years in software or data engineering or technical implementation with a production data solution
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Hands-on experience implementing Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud) or equivalent enterprise data platform
- Experience building data pipelines and integrations using platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, cloud storage, or MDM
- Proficiency in SQL for multi-table queries, joins, transformations, and validation
- Fluency in Apex, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript with willingness to learn others
- Understanding of data modeling, APIs, batch/streaming processing, and data access patterns
- Experience building AI retrieval systems (vector databases, embedding pipelines, knowledge bases) and design choices for chunking/indexing
- Experience implementing secure service-to-service integration (OAuth, SAML, event-driven architectures) and MCP
- Ability to test securely with permissions, entitlements, and user context; conduct reproducible debugging
- Experience delivering with customers, partners, or professional services in deadline-driven settings
- Relevant Salesforce Agentforce, Data 360, and Salesforce Platform certifications
