About the Opportunity We are supporting a highly successful and rapidly growing international fintech company in the search for a
Head of Legal & Compliance (Europe) (m/f/d).
This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced legal and compliance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and enjoys partnering closely with business leaders to enable sustainable growth.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping the legal and regulatory framework of the European business while leading and developing a growing team.
Please note that, depending on the successful candidate's location and business requirements, relocation within Europe may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all Legal and Compliance activities across the European business.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on legal, regulatory and compliance matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable European regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Manage relationships with regulators and external legal advisors.
Support business growth initiatives by providing pragmatic, risk‑based legal and compliance guidance.
Develop, implement and continuously improve compliance frameworks, policies and controls.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
Lead, coach and develop a team of legal and compliance professionals.
Partner closely with Risk, Operations, Product, Technology and Commercial teams.
Your Profile
University degree in Law or a related discipline.
Significant leadership experience within Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs or a related function.
Proven experience within a regulated financial services environment.
Strong understanding of European regulatory frameworks.
Experience gained within fintech, payments, digital banking, crypto or other highly regulated sectors is highly desirable.
Ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience leading and developing teams.
Willingness to relocate within Europe if required.
