Our client is seeking an experienced AI Security Governance Expert to lead the development, implementation and oversight of AI security and governance frameworks across the organisation. This role will be responsible for ensuring the secure, compliant and ethical adoption of Artificial Intelligence technologies while maintaining alignment with the EU AI Act, GDPR and broader regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between security, legal, compliance, risk and technology teams to establish best practices for AI governance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide AI governance and security frameworks.
- Lead AI risk assessments, security reviews and compliance initiatives for AI systems and services.
- Ensure organisational readiness and compliance with the EU AI Act, including risk classification, transparency requirements, technical documentation and governance controls.
- Define AI security policies, standards, control frameworks and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, privacy and information security teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Establish governance processes covering AI model development, deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management.
- Conduct third-party and supplier assessments for AI solutions and platforms.
- Advise executive leadership on AI-related security, compliance and operational risks.
- Develop AI risk registers, reporting metrics and governance dashboards.
- Support internal and external audits related to AI governance and regulatory obligations.
- Deliver awareness and training programmes across business and technology stakeholders.
- Monitor evolving AI regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Required Experience
- 6+ years of experience in Cyber Security, Risk, Governance, Compliance or Technology Risk.
- 3+ years focused on AI Governance, AI Security, Responsible AI or AI Risk Management.
- Proven hands-on experience implementing and operationalising requirements of the EU AI Act.
- Strong knowledge of AI governance frameworks, model risk management and AI lifecycle controls.
- Experience conducting AI risk and security assessments.
- Familiarity with Generative AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), machine learning platforms and AI development practices.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across executive, legal, compliance and technology functions.
- Experience developing policies, standards, and governance operating models.
