Key Account Manager

The Account Manager position will require maintaining customer relationships by providing Sudden Service for specific accounts, serving as the primary sales support contact for the customer by answering daily questions and providing assistance where needed .

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining strong and/or strategic relationships with key decision-makers (teams in charge of purchasing, engineering, etc ) .
  • Being the main point of contact for clients regarding project tracking, operations, quality, accounting, purchasing, technical support, dispute resolution, and more .
  • Evaluating and confirming our supplier status, assessing dashboard parameters, and identifying opportunities for improvement – if necessary, implementing corrective actions .
  • Evaluating the percentage of potential market available to Samtec at your customer, with goal of covering as much as possible .
  • Creation, negotiation and follow-up of quotations .
  • Working proactively with internal and external sales teams to find cost-reduction solutions on new designs and/or existing designs .
  • Liaising between customer and Samtec application engineers, you will develop customer-specific product solutions according to individual specifications .
  • Provide Inside Sales s upport for the Field Sales engineer in new projects and in day-to-day business .
  • Support customer project s from the first inquiry, through the calculation and creation of the offer to the customer order. As the man point of contact, you also work closely with internal teams like R&D and Operations at HQ and manufacturing sites globally to meet customer expectations .
  • Through regular analysis you support the targeted development of your customers and identify new sales opportunities on a commercial and technical level .
  • You carry out annual price negotiations independently and drive customer pricing strategies within the framework of the sales guidelines.
  • You look after our customers and their commercial needs on the phone and by e-mail, and are also available for on-site appointments at your customer\’s location if required .
  • Taking part in trade fairs and similar marketing events, representing Samtec as single point of contact .

What we expect from you

  • Professional commercial or technical education , or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other Business discipline , or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2 – 5 y ears ’ e xperience in an Account Management or Customer Service environment .
  • Knowledge in the field of electronic interconnect technology or semiconductor technologies is an advantage but not a requirement. Detailed product training is part of the induction period .
  • Native German language skills and fluent communication skills in English .
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively across the organization and with customer base .
  • Team Player is essential.
  • Project M anagement e xperience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a p lanned and structured way of working but you must also be flexible in a way that will help you and Samtec achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
