About the Job As ad interim Medical Head Vaccines Switzerland (100%) within our Vaccines team, you’ll cover the maternity leave of the current Medical Head. You will assume full responsibility for all medical affairs activities and provide complete medical leadership for the Vaccines BU in Switzerland during this period. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic medical team and make a significant impact on our vaccines strategy in Switzerland.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Medical Leadership – provide overall medical responsibility and strategic direction for the Vaccines Medical BU in Switzerland; manage budget and lead a team of 4
Assure the development and delivery of the Swiss Vaccines medical plan in line with the global medical roadmap, CH product strategy and budget
Contribute to the overall BU Vaccines CH strategy and provide the medical/scientific perspective for the development of franchise and brand plans
Oversee and contribute to the execution medical activities (e.g., medical education events, insight generation activities, responding to medical inquiries) to achieve the defined strategic objectives
Participate in national and international congresses as well as internal meetings and ensure relevant information is shared and medical team members are well trained
Communicate medical/scientific data about the vaccines products and the diseases they aim to prevent to relevant internal and external stakeholders
Be proactive in the identification of emerging trends, and integrate them into business strategies for pipeline and life‑cycle management
Oversee and contribute to the maintenance of the coordinated cross‑functional stakeholder plan with key contacts in the Swiss vaccines healthcare environment
Contribute to cross‑GBU leadership initiatives across Austria and Switzerland
Collaborate with the commercial team for the development of the external communication plan and training of the field sales team
Collaborate with Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Quality, Compliance, and Market Access functions in all medically relevant issues
Ensure compliance with Swiss and Sanofi rules in activities and assigned GxP processes (e.g., validation of events and material, audits)
Experience
Solid experience in medical affairs
Good understanding of the Swiss health care environment including recommendation and reimbursement processes
Preferably experience in vaccines
Preferably experience in line management, with proven ability to lead teams
Soft and Technical Skills
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Strategic mindset with business acumen and focus on execution
Ability to synthesize information and translate it into actionable intelligence
Ability to navigate in a matrix environment and to cooperate transversally
Flexible, self‑motivated, ability to establish credibility, ability to lead a team
Education
Degree in medicine or advanced degree in a medically related discipline (preferably PhD)
Languages
Fluent German and English language skills; conversational French desirable
