The SANY Mining HEX R&D team in Bedburg develops Mining excavators for the global surface mining industry. The focus is on large mechanical structures, main component selection, system architecture, hydraulic and electric system design. The Bedburg Mining team collaborates intensively with the SHM design teams in Kunshan, China. The junior vehicle engineer supports the machine lead engineer in the development of large excavators and helps driving the collaboration with the international engineering teams.
This position is meant for young engineers with first design experience as a career start within the large HEX organization and growth opportunities in multiple design areas.
As a junior vehicle engineer, the candidate will get to know the entire layout / design of a mining excavator, including digging attachment, undercarriage and uppercarriage installations such as power module, hydraulic systems and operator station.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns the 3D model of the machine and will work with the vehicle lead engineer and interacts with the individual system teams to integrate the various systems into a functional machine.
- Prepares technical meetings and helps driving technical discussions to keep the team focused and aligned.
- Performs structural design work in various areas of the machine under guidance of the system lead engineers.
- Works in different design areas of the machine to better understand design details and the interfaces between the various systems.
Qualifications
- Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a close related field, from a European university
- Minimum of 2-year experience with the design of large mobile equipment
- Experienced in the use of 3D CAD systems, preferably Creo Parametric
- Self-driven, with good communication skills and an ability to collaborate with international, intercultural teams
- Background in both Chinese and European cultural and work environments
- Fluent in Chinese, English and German languages
- Availability for business required international travel
