(Senior) Cloud Developer (f/m/d) for SAP HANA Cloud - Backup and Recovery

Meet your team. The Backup and Recovery (B&R) team is located in Berlin, Walldorf and Paris and the development team is part of the HANA Database development team. The HANA database is one of the largest high-end enterprise databases serving OLTP and data analytics applications. It is a strategic core product of SAP and essential for business applications especially in HANA Cloud. In our team we are responsible for the HANA database engine functionality (in C++) and the HANA Cloud control plane controlling the B&R features. We feel responsible for our work. What you'll do

As a (Senior) Cloud Developer (f/m/d) you are working on the control plane for Backup and Recovery (B&R) of the SAP HANA Cloud. You will develop new features and in case of issues, will search for the root cause of failures and provide a solution. Besides coding, you present your work and ideas, extend the user documentation, invite your colleagues to discuss concepts and participate in code-reviews. Each service is also responsible for the continued integration and testing of its components. You will collaborate with your team and work together with developers from other teams on new features and on issues. You will talk to stakeholders about requirements. You want to work in a business-critical area and take responsibility for your deliveries. You like to work in a team.

What you bring

You bring experience in one or more areas of cloud development. You already worked with programming languages like Python, Golang, Jenkins, or C++ and you have basic knowledge about Kubernetes and which criteria apply for cloud services. You know or even have experience with distributed systems. Since we work on bringing the B&R capabilities of the HANA Database to the cloud, it would be of advantage if you bring a basic understanding or experience with databases. We need a good portion of curiosity to understand how things should work and why it might not be the case. For software development you like to work sustainably on simple and robust solutions. For the support case, you can think out of the box and find a solution, so that customers can continue with their business.
