You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement to increase operation, availability, and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption are also important parts. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential within the new Enterprise Cloud Services program. Your role will be that of a Technology Senior Consultant as part of the Center of Excellence Teams comprising of Database Experts administering Databases, driving critical topics related to Incident Management, Problem Management, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore among other operational tasks. The primary location is in Dresden but we are also hiring in St. Leon Rot.
What you’ll do:
- Monitoring and managing the database landscape in large-scale productive environments
- Good knowledge of policy, workflow, group, and clients for configuring the backup
- Ensuring data integrity aspects and determining the most suitable recovery technique
- Ability to handle effectively and accurately the data recovery scenarios
- Clear understanding of Point-In-Time (PIT) and full recovery techniques
- Handle incidents around critical systems and ability to failover & failback as needed
What you bring:
- Strong conceptual understanding & knowledge of RDBMS products in the market
- Around 15+ years of work experience as Database Administrator in Global Operations team (primarily on SAP HANA and ASE Database Platforms, however any database technology is welcome)
- Exposure to automation tools/scripting or processes
- DB installations and upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation
- Providing technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning systems. Performance optimization
- DB concepts on security, backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, system copies, high availability, and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication is a must
- Willingness to work on-call duty (weekends and public holidays) on a rotational basis during business hours
