Project Manager / Application Consultant — Hospital Sector

Project Manager / Application Consultant — Hospital Sector

Frankfurt am Main Vollzeit Kein Homeoffice möglich
S

Languages: Fluent, negotiation-level German required

***PLEASE NOTE: This role carries significant on-site travel. A large share of hospital projects is delivered on-site rather than remotely, especially during realisation, go-live, and rollout. The phased rollout approach means multiple on-site stints per project, more than comparable roles in other sectors. Candidates should be comfortable with this before applying. The location is listed as Frankfurt am Main for posting purposes only; this role is not tied to Frankfurt specifically. Projects take place at hospitals across Germany, and candidates based anywhere in the country are welcome to apply.

About the Role

Our client implements software solutions for hospitals, covering materials management, central stores, ward supply, pharmacy logistics, finance/accounting, and OR supply. We're hiring a Project Manager / Application Consultant to lead these implementation projects end-to-end.

Two candidate levels will be considered:

  • Preferred: someone already independently leading implementation projects today, able to take full project ownership shortly after onboarding
  • Also considered: someone brought into the role in tandem with an experienced project lead during onboarding

What You'll Do

  • Lead hospital implementation projects independently, following an onboarding period, working in tandem with an experienced project lead
  • Gather, structure, and document requirements with the hospital's functional departments
  • Create and maintain the project concept as the basis for scope definition
  • Steer projects through defined phases: preparation, realisation, demo/pilot operation, phased go-live, rollout, handover
  • Coordinate stakeholders across the hospital: central stores, pharmacy, wards, finance, IT, and administration
  • Work with Development on interfaces, extensions, and feasibility
  • Organise and support testing and customer acceptance
  • Support the hypercare phase through to handover to the Service team
  • Ensure formal project closure, including full billing

What You'll Need

  • Experience leading or taking significant ownership within implementation, ERP, or organisational projects
  • Demonstrable ability to turn unstructured requirements into a workable, robust plan
  • Strong drive to see projects through to completion and handover
  • Technical understanding of software solutions and their configuration
  • Basic SQL knowledge, or the ability to build this quickly
  • Strong stakeholder communication across departments with differing priorities
  • Independent, self-directed way of working
  • High willingness to travel
  • Fluent, negotiation-level German

Nice to have:

  • ERP or logistics implementation experience, in any industry the strongest additional criterion
  • Hospital-sector experience: materials management, central stores, procurement, pharmacy logistics, controlling, or clinical IT
  • Familiarity with system interfaces
  • Understanding of hospital financing and finance/accounting processes
  • Experience with phased go-lives in operations running continuous shift coverage
  • Understanding of IT security and data protection in sensitive systems

What's on Offer

  • Real end-to-end ownership of hospital digitalisation projects, working to a defined, mature project methodology
  • Onboarding in tandem with an experienced project lead, full support, not a sink-or-swim start
  • Largely self-directed scheduling and travel planning
  • Close collaboration with Development, Sales, and Service
