System Architect - Satellite & Communication Systems
Enjoy turning complex ideas into working hardware and software? This role offers the chance to take communication systems from early concepts through to fully integrated prototypes.
We are searching for a System Architect to join its R&D team. Its technology supports critical operations across government, defence, telecoms and broadcasting worldwide.
You’ll combine system design with hands-on development, bringing together SoCs, FPGAs, software and peripherals to build and test complete proof-of-concept systems.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and prototyping system-level concepts for communication systems.
- Configuring and integrating SoCs, FPGAs and peripherals into working prototypes.
- Developing, testing and optimising end-to-end proofs of concept using internal and partner technologies.
- Working closely with R&D teams and external partners on hardware/software co-design and system integration.
- Documenting architectures, integration processes and reusable reference designs.
What you’ll bring
- A degree in Electrical, Computer or Embedded Systems Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- At least five years’ experience developing communication products and systems, such as satellite, 5G or Wi‑Fi modems.
- Practical skills in C/C++, Python, Linux/RTOS and hardware/software co-design.
- Experience with SoCs, FPGAs, third‑party software and SDK integration.
- Knowledge of communication protocols and technologies, including Ethernet and 5G/6G.
- A hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and the ability to collaborate in a busy R&D environment.
- Very good English and basic German.
What’s on offer
- A permanent position with autonomy and varied technical work.
- A supportive team, flat hierarchy and a focus on work-life balance.
- Training and professional development opportunities.
