Linesight is recruiting a senior contract manager in Frankfurt to run construction contracts under FIDIC and under the German VOB/B. The appointee takes independent charge of FIDIC and VOB/B contracts, checks that rights, obligations and procedures are actually operated within the project, and drafts, reviews and assesses contractual correspondence, notices, delay notifications and variation claims. Advice to project teams on the interpretation and application of the two contract regimes sits alongside the assessment and handling of variations, claims and contract amendments.
Support to the preparation and conduct of contract negotiations is included, as is contractual assessment and risk review, work on the avoidance and resolution of disputes, and support to formal dispute resolution.
What the employer asks for is a degree in civil engineering, industrial engineering, construction management or construction law, several years in construction contract management on large projects, and sound working knowledge of the FIDIC suite and of VOB/B, ideally with the German construction contract provisions of the BGB. Experience of claims and variation management is required, and negotiation level German with strong English.
EPC, EPCM or design and build experience and MRICS, MCIArb or PMP are listed as welcome additions. No salary and no closing date are published.
