General Job Description

The Yacht Compliance Manager will be responsible for the entire fleet of yachts, acting as the DPA (Designated Person Ashore) and Compliance Manager.

She/He will work in Hamburg office or in the South of France under direct supervision and reporting to the Operation Manager and Managing Director.

Job Description

  • To act as DPA (Designated Person Ashore) and Compliance Manager for the entire fleet of yachts.
  • Supervise, administrate and coordinate the ISM of the company, as well as general compliance aspects.
  • In charge of the development of the SMS, as well as overall operational processes and manual for the company and the vessels.
  • Support and act as primary contact with the vessels in term of compliance questions and consulting, implementation, etc.
  • Liaison with Classification Society and Flag States.
  • Ensuring that all Safety management processes and compliance aspects are correctly implemented and followed.
  • Plan and prepare audits.
  • Support the yacht managers and crewing team with compliance questions.
  • Leadership and supervision of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Responsible for all compliance aspects of the company, not limited to SMS, with the support of the group resources (e.g. cybersecurity).
  • Helping with any other ad hoc tasks reasonably requested.

Requirements

  • Sea-going experience in a senior deck rank position (yacht or passenger ship),– or track record experience in yacht management / ship management.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ overall experience. Experience in yachting and/or offshore activities is a plus. • Expert knowledge of ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, MLC & STCW. Previous auditing and surveying experience is a must.
  • In depth knowledge of MLC and Crew legal related matters.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, diplomacy skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels (dealing with Captains, Crew, suppliers, partners and various stakeholders).
  • Effective solution finding, autonomous, disciplined and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Able to perform under stressful situations, involving multicultural environment and diverse topics.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) and proficiency in other languages will be an advantage.
