Internship in Passive Acoustic Monitoring – Data validation & analyses 100% We are looking to recruit an intern to join our team from 1 August 2026 or by mutual agreement, until 31 December 2026.
The Swiss Ornithological Institute is a non-profit foundation dedicated to ornithology and the protection of birds.
Your tasks
Analyses of large Passive Acoustic Monitoring datasets from West Africa, including automated identification with AI and manual validation of the detections
Conduct statistical analyses
Write a report / publication
Your profile
You like exploring the potential of new technologies for biodiversity conservation.
You like data analyses, computer work and technical challenges.
You have a good knowledge of birds and their vocalisations.
You can work both independently and within a team.
You like learning new things.
You are fluent in English.
