Software Engineer – Business Intelligence
- Set up, further develop and operate the SNSF data platforms
- Develop and maintain the new enterprise-wide Data Warehouse
- Operate, further develop and support (2nd/3rd level) the data platform services
- Provide internal consulting for data architecture & reporting
- Be responsible for and collaborate in the evaluation, introduction and operation of development tools, methods and techniques
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and Data Models, as well as Power BI Datasets and reports
- Coordinate workshops with users and stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements for reports and the data warehouse
- Define the solution and data architecture, as well as write technical specifications
- Integrate new source systems into the data hub
- Act as Deputy Product Owner Data Systems & Services
Your profile
- Degree in business information technology, computer science, BWL, similar education or proven track record in a relevant role
- Sound knowledge in data modelling (3NF, star schema) and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Proficient in SQL and experienced in developing reports (eg. in Power BI, Tableau, Looker etc.)
- Ability to translate different business requirements into technical specifications and Jira Tickets
- Sound knowledge of agile methodology like SCRUM and other relevant sets of best practices
- Solid knowledge of Git, branching strategies and concepts like CI/CD
- Nice to have: knowledge in one of the following products or technologies: Databricks, DBT, Data Factory, Python, MS Fabric; experience in working with APIs
- Willingness and ability to learn and understand complex business processes
- Team language is English, good skills in German or French are highly welcome
