Job Summary The Engineer is responsible for performing technical inspections of electrical work, monitoring the contractor's quality control program, and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance. This position is established to support and assist OBO in ensuring the completion of the project in accordance with contract requirements. Specific experience with high and low voltage equipment, as well as telephone and fire alarm systems, is desired.
Filling this position is contingent upon award.
Scope of the Project The Selective Improvements project for the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, Austria will provide essential improvements to extend the life of the 11,673 GSM chancery until a replacement can be constructed. Scope includes improvements to building accessibility, remote fuel and fire water storage fill and pipe repairs, structural and seismic improvements, mechanical upgrades to kitchen air systems, chiller overflow drain, backup boiler, smoke exhaust system, replacement of water distribution plumbing, telecom cabling upgrades, fire systems upgrades including suppression, detection and pump room improvements, physical security upgrades to the compound perimeter and access controls, and some interior improvements.
Responsibilities
Ensuring that the contractor is performing the required contract work in accordance with the design documents.
Reviewing engineering shop drawings and determining if the contractor has complied with the final design parameters.
Observing onsite construction and determining if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.
Performing quality assurance tasks, ensuring contractor work is properly inspected and corrective actions take place, ensuring materials meet contract, reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with contract requirements, and resolving conflicts.
Monitoring the construction contractor's quality assurance and safety program.
Monitoring construction progress vis à vis the project schedule and submitting weekly progress reports with recommendations based on the technical review of project documents and field inspections.
Performing technical inspections of the electrical elements of the project.
Developing working knowledge of all technical requirements of the project.
Providing quality assurance for the ongoing construction project.
Reviewing contractor submittals.
Evaluating proposed submittal substitutions with engineering implications and making recommendations to the project director.
Coordinating the development of independent government estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.
Preparing monthly progress reports and attending meetings summarizing project status with emphasis on engineering.
Performing related duties as assigned by the project director.
Requirements
An electrical engineering degree (bachelor's or above) from an accredited program and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience required on construction projects of similar scope and dollar value to the project supported by this Task Order.
Design office experience shall not count toward an employee's experience.
A Professional Engineering (PE) License is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Overseas experience is preferred.
Must have Final Secret, Interim Top Secret (TS), or Final TS security clearance issued by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) at the time of consideration.
Knowledge of International Codes required.
Experience in assessing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI).
Experience in reviewing and evaluating design calculations and data from an engineering perspective.
Knowledge of Construction Safety regulations, i.e. EM 385-1-1, OSHA, etc.
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.
Must be able to read design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations.
Must understand and be able to interpret drawings in his/her discipline and have an understanding of the principles of his/her discipline and how it fits in with other disciplines.

Clearance Information SRC is a contractor for the U.S. Government; this position will require U.S. citizenship as well as a U.S. Government security clearance at the secret level with top secret eligibility.
