Junior Medical Underwriter in Bonn

Overview

In this role you will underwrite mortality and disability cases, including complex ones, aligned with SCOR’s philosophy and client service standards. You will provide technical support on client inquiries, conduct medical and market research, and help develop underwriting solutions that enhance client value. The position involves a collaborative, adaptable environment and may include Claims Management contributions across the risk and claims lifecycle. You will engage with cross-functional teams, share expertise, and support innovation initiatives in digital underwriting.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Deliver high-quality underwriting decisions for mortality and disability cases
• Ensure underwriting aligns with SCOR’s philosophy, risk appetite, and strategy
• Support underwriting audits and client visits to promote quality and service
• Produce management information and metrics to improve processes
• Collaborate with International Desk and broader underwriting teams to implement client strategy
• Share knowledge with medical underwriting community and broader underwriting peers
• Represent SCOR at industry events and forums to strengthen relationships
• Provide underwriting support to other regions within Continental Europe & Latin America
• Contribute to internal AI and innovation initiatives and explore new technologies in medical underwriting
• Potential involvement in Claims Management activities and end-to-end lifecycle support

Zentrale Anforderungen

• 2–3 years underwriting experience with authority to load, postpone and decline all classes of business
• Excellent technical underwriting knowledge
• Strong analytical judgement and attention to detail; clear documentation of decisions
• Life & Health Insurance market and product knowledge
