Become part of the AutoScout24 Platform Engineering team and enable engineering teams to deliver software quickly and reliably, living our “you build it, you run it” approach. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has a background in Software Engineering (Java) and Platform Engineering, who’s able to work with different teams on establishing and promoting engineering best practices. The candidate will be part of the AutoScout Tech Effectiveness team shaping the operational excellence of our tech organization. This involves a lot of cross team collaboration with less emphasis on day to day coding.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with an engineering manager and different tech teams to identify the right problem to solve in an architectural/consultant capacity.
- Together with your team and internal stakeholders, you will co-create best practices and engineering standards, while shaping the architecture, technology choices and developing infrastructure products.
- Support other engineers that use your team’s products, participate in on-call and troubleshoot production incidents.
- Take a leading role in projects and initiatives.
What you need to succeed:
- Experience with IaaS cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. (Ideally with AWS)
- Familiarity with core IaaS concepts such as compute, storage, networking, identity management, etc.
- Problem solving and collaboration skills.
- Background in Software Engineering (specifically with Java) would be a big plus.
- Ability to code in at least one programming language, ideally Java or Typescript.
- Experience with SRE and/or DevOps principles.
- Appreciation for Infrastructure as Code and Pipeline as Code.
- Knowledge of observability concepts and monitoring technologies such as AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, OpsGenie.
