PostDoc Researcher in the area of intelligent control of networked systems

ppThe University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) invites applications for a bPostDoc Researcher in the area of \"intelligent control of networked systems\", with focus on “semantic world models for safe, explainable Physical AI” /b, at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-SUPSI) within the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI), located in Lugano. The degree of employment is 100%, with a contract starting on , or on a mutually agreed date. /p h3Duties and responsibilities /h3 ul liCollaborate on European and industrial projects by developing semantic reasoning, agentic AI, and knowledge representation techniques, with applications in industrial processes and robotics. /li liConduct innovative research in the aforementioned fields. /li liDesign and implement experiments to explore novel approaches and techniques in the areas mentioned above. /li liCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex challenges in related fields. /li liCo-supervise PhD candidates and students. /li liSupport the LEON team ( and contribute to the preparation of research- and application-oriented project proposals, including projects developed in collaboration with industry partners. /li liPublish research results in high-quality international conferences and journals. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 h3Technical background and skills /h3 ul liPhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field. /li liDemonstrated programming skills in Python and experience with semantic technologies such as RDF, SPARQL, and OWL. /li liStrong track record of scientific publications in the relevant research areas. /li liPrevious experience in supervising PhD candidates and students in their thesis work. /li liDemonstrated ability to independently prepare and submit project proposals in competitive funding calls, such as EU programmers. /li /ul h3Soft skills /h3 ul liVery good communication skills in spoken and written English. /li liAbility to work in a team and in a collaborative environment. /li liAutonomy. /li /ul h3Desirable but not strictly required /h3 ul liDemonstrated background in semantic reasoning, agentic AI, semantic web technologies, and knowledge representation techniques. /li liExperience in research projects involving robotic systems. /li /ul h3What SUPSI Offers /h3 ul liA full-time employment contract, initially for two years, with possibility of extension. /li liAttractive salary, in line with Swiss standards and the candidate's experience. /li liAn international working environment. /li liTravel support to participate to high quality conferences and workshops. /li liOpportunity to develop professional and scientific skills. /liliCo-supervision of PhDs and students. /li /ul pFor further information, please contact: Prof. Dario Piga. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
