You will engage in some of the most prominent, high-stakes cases in international arbitration and large-scale commercial disputes. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the intersection of valuation, finance, accounting, economics, and legal principles of damages.Responsibilities:Prepare in-depth economic damages and business valuation reports that drive critical legal decisionsLead comprehensive financial and industry research to support litigation and arbitration casesAnalyze complex financial and non-financial data, summarizing key findings for both internal and external stakeholdersDevelop sophisticated financial models and valuation parameters, including discount rates and forecastsPrepare critique reports to challenge the findings of other experts in high-profile disputesAct as a key liaison, communicating regularly with clients and legal counselPrepare for and actively participate in hearings, trials, and mediationsOversee multiple engagements, ensuring deliverables are met on time and to the highest standardRequirements:A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred)Full proficiency in English and German (written and spoken)A background as a qualified accountant, preferably with Big Four experienceExperience in disputes, economic damages, or business valuations is highly desirableExceptional analytical skills, with the ability to manage large datasets and distill key insights even in unfamiliar scenariosA proactive, results-driven attitude, able to excel under pressure and tight deadlinesOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiencesA strong team-oriented mindset, able to collaborate across functions and regionsFamiliarity with tools like Capital IQ, DealStats, and Bloomberg is a plusSecretariat is an equal opportunity employer.
