ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Project Manager -Global Health, you will play a crucial role in managing consulting projects across SEEK’s portfolio. You will guide project teams and advise senior clients within leading organisations in the global health space. You will hold end-to-end accountability for your projects, including delivery, quality and budget. You will help clients formulate innovative strategic plans to optimise their impact and build organisations that serve as powerful agents of change. You will also be part of our SEEK management team, help develop the global health practice and support the professional growth of its members.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Client and business leadership:
  • Cultivate close relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor who understands their evolving needs, helps them build evidence-based strategies and the organisational capacity to deliver, and is actively sought out for follow-up work.
  • Draw on your relationships, network and expertise to identify opportunities to serve existing and new clients, and drive the creation of winning proposals to further grow SEEK’s global health portfolio.
  • As a member of the SEEK management team, take ownership of building the firm beyond client work, identifying critical enablers for SEEK’s work and brand and steering internal initiatives around them.
Project and people leadership:
  • Take responsibility for delivering high-quality, high-impact work on client engagements, drawing on your expertise to ensure clients receive the best solutions to their issues.
  • Direct the day-to-day running of client projects in global health, guiding teams of consultants in structuring problems, conducting analyses, pushing beyond the obvious, developing innovative solutions, and anticipating risks and issues.
  • Staff teams for both client impact and consultants’ development, growing talent across SEEK through mentoring, coaching and feedback, as well as self-development.
  • Positively shape SEEK’s culture by cultivating belonging and role-modelling our values, and build community internally and externally.

Practice and thought leadership:

  • Co-lead SEEK's global health practice, representing it and acting as a go-to person internally and externally; developing and delivering the practice strategy; and building its knowledge, offerings and reputation through your expertise, project work and external profile in global health.
  • Contribute to the development of new products, approaches and tools to continuously strengthen SEEK’s offering to its global health clients.

You are curious, strategic, think holistically and are drawn to problems that resist easy answers. You do your best work alongside others, and you are a committed self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.


WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS EXCITING ROLE:

Global health experience and network

  • Substantive technical knowledge of at least two global health areas relevant to SEEK's client base (for example: global health financing and aid effectiveness, health systems strengthening and primary health care, infectious disease programmes, immunisation, pandemic preparedness and response, R&D and access to medical products, or sexual and reproductive health) with genuine depth in at least one area, and the ability to build credibility quickly in other global health areas.
  • Deep working knowledge of global health current issues/debates, architecture, actors, political dynamics and funding streams.
  • Experience working within a global health organisation or demonstrated equivalent depth of engagement with the global health ecosystem.
  • Established network in the global health ecosystem, with relationships across key organisations such as UN agencies, product-development partnerships, foundations and bilateral donors.
  • A network and/or experience working within philanthropy, the private sector or development banks in a global health context is an asset, as is significant exposure to Africa-based global health work.

Consulting skills

  • Experience in a leading strategy consulting firm or comparable setting is required.
  • Strong consulting skills and experience — including proven capability in structured problem-solving, hypothesis-driven analysis, facilitation, team management, project management, people development, client counselling and the delivery of decision-ready recommendations — with a track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder consulting engagements to high quality standards, on time and within scope.
  • Proven business development experience, including identifying leads, building client relationships and steering proposal development, with a track record of successfully converting opportunities into engagements.

General and functional skills

  • Advanced degreein business, public administration, economics, global public health or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and present information in an insightful, audience-appropriate manner.
  • Committed to social impact and comfortable operating with autonomy in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in at least two of the following: strategy, organisational development, strategic advocacy.
  • Fluent in English; German or French an additional advantage.
