Role Description

The Budget Control Specialist / Budget Control Analyst monitors expenditure against approved budgets to support financial discipline and effective resource allocation. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in budget control, financial analysis, management accounting, or expenditure monitoring.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track spending, investigate variances, and identify budget risks.
  • Understanding of budgeting processes, cost control, accruals, financial commitments, and approval procedures.
  • Ability to review spending requests, assess budget availability, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, budgeting software, Power BI, or similar analytical tools is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate records and reporting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain budget issues to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple budgets, meet reporting deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
