Vice President, Technology M&A (Berlin / DACH)
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading international technology-focused investment banking platform that is continuing to invest in the growth of its European franchise. Following a number of strategic hires at Analyst and Associate level, the team is seeking to appoint a Vice President to play a pivotal role in driving transaction execution, client coverage, and team development across the DACH region.
The firm advises high-growth technology businesses, founders, private equity investors, and strategic acquirers on a broad range of M&A and capital raising transactions. With a strong pipeline of activity and an established presence across Europe, this hire represents an opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial platform at an exciting stage of growth.
The preferred location is Berlin, although exceptional candidates seeking to be based in London with a strong DACH focus will also be considered.
The Role
As Vice President, you will work closely with senior bankers on the origination and execution of complex technology transactions across Europe. You will lead deal processes, manage client relationships, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continued development of the firm's technology franchise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A mandates from initial pitch through to completion
- Managing due diligence, financial analysis, valuation workstreams, and transaction documentation
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, investors, founders, and counterparties
- Supporting senior bankers with business development initiatives and pitch situations
- Reviewing and mentoring Analysts and Associates across live transactions and marketing materials
- Coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction delivery
- Developing expertise across key technology subsectors including software, digital services, fintech, deep tech, consumer technology, and sports technology
Candidate Profile
We are interested in both existing Vice Presidents and high-performing Senior Associates who are on track for promotion within the next 12-18 months.
Essential Requirements
- Proven investment banking experience within Technology M&A
- Experience advising on either buy-side or sell-side transactions
- Strong track record of completed transactions within the technology sector
- Demonstrable leadership and project management capabilities
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and execution skills
- Strong client-facing and communication abilities
- Fluent English; German language skills are beneficial but not essential
