Investment Analyst / Associate - Private Credit Frankfurt, Germany About the Opportunity We are partnering with a leading and rapidly growing European private credit platform seeking to hire an Investment Analyst or Associate to join its Frankfurt office.
This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial investment team focused on providing bespoke financing solutions to mid-market and sponsor-backed businesses across the DACH region and broader Europe.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from origination support and underwriting through to execution, portfolio monitoring and value creation initiatives.
The role offers significant responsibility from day one, direct interaction with senior investment professionals, management teams and sponsors, and the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex credit investments.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate new investment opportunities across direct lending, unitranche, senior debt, subordinated debt and special situations transactions.
Build and maintain detailed financial models, including integrated operating models, debt capacity analyses, covenant models and downside case scenarios.
Conduct fundamental credit analysis, business due diligence and industry research.
Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to senior investment professionals and investment committees.
Participate in management meetings, lender discussions and sponsor interactions.
Assist in transaction structuring, documentation review and due diligence processes.
Monitor existing portfolio investments, including financial performance, covenant compliance and ongoing risk assessment.
Support portfolio companies through refinancing, acquisition financing and strategic growth initiatives.
Work closely with senior team members on fundraising, investor reporting and market intelligence projects when required.
Candidate Profile We are interested in candidates with: 1-3 years of relevant experience within Leveraged Finance, Private Credit, Acquisition Finance, Structured Finance, Debt Advisory, Corporate Banking, Restructuring or a related credit-focused investment role.
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, including experience assessing capital structures and credit risk.
Exposure to sponsor-backed transactions, leveraged buyouts, refinancing or structured financing processes is highly desirable.
Excellent understanding of corporate finance and debt products.
Demonstrable ability to perform detailed financial and commercial due diligence.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
Native or fluent German and professional English language skills are essential.
