Our client, a leading Hedge Fund, is seeking a Quantitative Developer to join their growing energy trading technology team. This role sits close to front-office users and focuses on building and enhancing platforms that support pricing, valuation, risk management, trade lifecycle, and position management for commodity and energy derivatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating trading workflows into a wider enterprise platform landscape while helping to extend capabilities for complex OTC trading activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain platforms supporting commodity and energy derivatives trading.
  • Develop pricing, valuation, and risk management infrastructure used by front-office stakeholders.
  • Enhance trade capture, booking, and lifecycle management workflows for OTC products.
  • Partner closely with traders, quants, and risk teams to support complex discretionary trading strategies.
  • Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of trading and risk systems.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative development, platform engineering, or trading technology.
  • Hands-on software engineering experience in trading, risk, valuation, or position management systems:
  • Experience building or supporting: Energy or commodity derivatives pricing systems, or risk and valuation platforms, or OTC trade capture, booking, or ETRM platforms.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in power or energy markets, particularly European or German power markets.
  • Exposure to renewable energy trading or related infrastructure.
  • Background working at leading financial institutions or investment banks.
  • Based in Hamburg with a strong onsite presence alongside traders and analysts.
  • Highly collaborative, desk-focused role with direct exposure to trading activity.
