Senior Natural Gas Originator Location: Flexible Across Europe (Switzerland, Germany, Croatia or Remote) Reports to: Head of Natural Gas About the Opportunity We are partnering with a growing and entrepreneurial energy trading business seeking to hire a Senior Natural Gas Originator to play a key role in expanding its physical gas activities across Europe. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially driven originator who wants to help build a business rather than join a large, established organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Natural Gas and be given the autonomy to develop new customer relationships, originate physical gas opportunities and contribute directly to the growth of the platform. The Role As Senior Natural Gas Originator, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing relationships with physical gas counterparties across European markets. You will work alongside the trading team to originate commercial opportunities, drive volume growth and expand the company's market presence. This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys creating business from scratch, building long-term customer relationships and contributing to the broader development of a growing organisation. Key Responsibilities Originate and develop profitable physical natural gas business across European markets. Build and maintain relationships with industrial customers, utilities, distributors, suppliers and other market participants. Identify new commercial opportunities and establish long-term strategic partnerships. Generate and maintain a pipeline of physical gas flow opportunities. Work closely with trading, operations and management teams to ensure successful execution of transactions. Negotiate commercial agreements and supply structures with counterparties. Monitor market developments and identify opportunities for business expansion. Contribute to the growth strategy of the gas business and help shape its future direction. Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events and customer meetings. Required Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in natural gas origination within European energy markets. Proven track record of originating and developing physical gas business. Strong network of existing industry relationships and the ability to generate commercial flow. Experience working with physical gas customers and counterparties rather than purely financial or screen-based trading activities. Strong understanding of European gas markets, commercial structures and supply arrangements. Demonstrated success in business development, relationship management and contract negotiation. Fluent English required. Additional European languages are advantageous.
