Psychologist (PhD PsyD, EdD) – Inpatient Rehab

Shift Hours: M-F 9am -5pm

Position Summary

The Psychologist provides psychodiagnostic evaluations, psychological counseling and crisis intervention to patients and families. Provides recommendations and consultations to staff members regarding patient care matters.

Responsibilities

Specific Duties

1. Conducts psychological evaluations, including collection of anamnestic information and mental status examination, leading to diagnostic impression and recommendations for management and/or treatment.
2. Provides psychological treatment and interventions, as indicated, including individual, marital-family and/or group counseling as well as crisis intervention.
3. Prepares and delivers oral and written psychological reports to appropriate medical and/or clinical staff in a timely manner.
4. Maintains records as required by hospital policies, regulatory and accrediting agencies.
5. Establishes and maintains an appropriate clinical caseload.
6. Participates in departmental and rehabilitation team meetings and conferences regarding patient care issues.
7. Participates in training and education of medical residents, patients/families, staff members and others as directed.
8. Contributes to program improvement in an effort to improve quality of clinical services on an ongoing basis.
9. Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, EdD) in Psychology required.
2. Current and valid state licensure as a Psychologist required.
3. One or more post-doctoral years of experience in the practice of Psychology required.

Preferred Experience

1. Neuropsychology degree and neuropsychological practice within a rehabilitation setting preferred.
