We are looking for a Data & Knowledge Engineer focused on the development and commercialization of AI-powered ESG solutions. Semantic Web Company (SWC), a global software company specializing in AI solutions for years, is in the process of developing a new business unit focused on ESG solutions. The new position will work closely with management to develop the dynamic ESG software market.
SWC is a leading provider of graph-based knowledge technologies. Its flagship product, the PoolParty Semantic Suite, is the most complete semantic middleware on the market comprising taxonomy, auto classification, text mining, semantic search, recommender systems, and knowledge graph solutions. SWC supports over 180 organizations, including over 50 Forbes Global 2000 companies, and has been a pioneer in the field of Semantic AI for over 15 years. SWC is building a business unit around ESG (Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance) that will work with customers and partners to develop solutions based on the PoolParty Semantic Suite for this area. About the Role
You will work in SWC's new ESG business unit, whose strategic direction you will develop and shape together with the management. You will significantly support the development of SWC's ESG-specific software solutions in active exchange with experts, partners and customers. As a member of the ESG business unit, you will focus on data and knowledge engineering and the implementation of various AI techniques to optimize our ESG solutions. In doing so, you will leverage our PoolParty platform, benefiting from a technology suite that has been established for years. Your interest lies in sustainably positioning our ESG solutions on the global market. In this position you will have many opportunities and directions to develop your career. Further down the career path, promotion to Senior Consultant is possible.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Understand business challenges and issues faced by the customer around ESG (e.g., Regulatory Framework, Reporting, Climate Risk Management, etc.) and translate these into technical solutions.
- Specification and co-design of intelligent software solutions for companies, investors, analysts, etc. to address specific challenges in the ESG environment.
- Perform data and knowledge engineering tasks to drive the development of our ESG knowledge graph and database.
- Provide support for pilot projects from a technical perspective.
- Collaborate with your team members, support technical aspects during customer acquisition phase and assist the handover to the Professional Services team for efficient customer enablement.
- Participate in internal and external meetings and workshops to gather customer requirements, develop solutions, report on technical progress, and present results.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- In-depth knowledge of AI techniques, know-how and experience with knowledge engineering and data modelling.
- Practical experience in areas such as data pipelines, search engines, text mining, recommender systems, ontology management or related disciplines.
- 2 years' plus experience in solution development and system architecture design, ideally related to graph databases or the Semantic Web technology stack.
- Knowledge and experience in requirements engineering, ability to interpret business problems into technical requirements.
- An inquiring mind, intense curiosity, interdisciplinary awareness as well as a strong desire to innovate in/contribute to the areas of ESG, responsible AI and Knowledge Graph Systems.
Other qualifications and experiences (nice to have):
- Business fluent in English, other profound language skills are an advantage.
- Master or PhD degree related to Computer Science or Information Science or similar.
- Knowledge around the ESG domain is an advantage, interest is a must have!
- Experience in agile process frameworks like Kanban and Scrum.
- Project management experience is an advantage.
