Engagement: Contract position with an hourly pay rate ranging from $50.00 to $55.00 What you'll do Design, develop, and execute automated performance testing scripts using NeoLoad or similar enterprise-level performance testing tools. Conduct various types of performance testing, including load, stress, endurance, scalability, volume, and capacity tests for web, mobile, and API applications. Create realistic workload models and performance scenarios that mimic production traffic accurately. Establish performance baselines, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) using both production and production-like environments. Analyze test outcomes to pinpoint performance bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers. Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable insights to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability. Utilize monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Application Insights, Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics to assess application health and performance. Develop and maintain scalable, reusable, and automated performance testing frameworks and scripts utilizing JavaScript. Integrate performance testing into Agile development and CI/CD pipelines to facilitate early performance validation (Shift-Left Testing). Identify system dependencies and implement service virtualization and mocking strategies using WireMock or equivalent tools. Ensure the stability and consistency of performance testing environments for repeatable testing outcomes. Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot complex performance issues. Document performance findings, defects, risks, and optimization recommendations for both technical and business stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the ongoing improvement of performance testing processes and standards. Requirements A minimum of 4 years of recent, hands-on experience in a dedicated Performance Engineering or Performance Testing role. Strong expertise in performance engineering, including test planning, analysis, load testing, stress testing, endurance testing, scalability testing, and capacity planning. Proficient with NeoLoad (preferred) or other enterprise performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, or k6. Experience in developing and maintaining automated performance test scripts using JavaScript. Strong analytical skills to assess performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and suggest performance enhancements. Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms like Azure Application Insights, Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics. Proficient in using Postman for API testing and validation. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar test management and CI/CD platforms. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), software testing lifecycle (STLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD principles. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Nice to have Experience with WireMock or other service virtualization tools. Background in testing microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in the financial services or banking sector. Exposure to functional automation testing or SDET practices, although this should be secondary to performance engineering expertise. Skills
