The Director, Growth Lead acts as a strategic integrator, sharing deep market, customer, and application insights with the Product organization to enable the translation of those insights into product concepts, business cases, and roadmap inputs. A core element of the role is building, maintaining, and strengthening trusted relationships with both existing and new strategic customers, recognizing that strong customer engagement is essential for sustainable growth and innovation.
General Responsibilities • Direct cross-functional teams, and propose and manage timely analyses with predetermined milestones • Oversee the strategic direction of merger and acquisitions activities together with and in support of Sensata’s business unit’s strategies • Direct strategic insights and identify new growth areas for Sensata • Oversee the pipeline of new growth opportunities aligned with these trends and markets, both with organic investments and through M&A/Partnerships • Oversee multiple strategic initiatives, and be expected to thoroughly detail all problems • Direct presentations and recommendations that will enable the executive management team to make critical go/no go decisions • Directs and oversees responsibilities of team to ensure priorities and deliverables are met Experience / Qualifications • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Growth & Innovation Strategy
• Partner with the Product organization to translate global product and customer strategies into regional, executable growth initiatives
• Own and operate the Innovation Framework as a cross-functional enablement mechanism, including disciplined opportunity intake, prioritization, clearly defined decision processes, agreed accountabilities, and structured execution tracking
• Identify and evaluate new customers, applications, and adjacent market opportunities, and provide structured input to the Product organization regarding new product concepts, business cases, and roadmap considerations
• Share deep market, customer, and application insights with the Product organization to support the development of product concepts, business cases, and roadmap inputs
• Build, maintain, and strengthen trusted, long-term relationships with key existing customers to ensure deep understanding of customer needs and future challenges
• Establish and develop relationships with new and prospective customers, acting as a credible technical and strategic partner during early engagement and opportunity exploration
Application Engineering Leadership
• Lead the Application Engineering organization in support of strategic growth initiatives and early customer engagement
• Ensure strong technical presence with customers during concept, feasibility, and pre-development phases
• Drive close collaboration between Application Engineering, Engineering, Sales, and the Product organization
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Provide indirect leadership to Innovation Framework participants across Business Development, Engineering, and Marketing
• Align growth initiatives across functions to ensure clear ownership, timelines, and deliverables
• Partner closely with Sales and the Product organization to support go-to-market readiness
