We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Desktop Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Service team at EUMETSAT. The ideal candidate is a motivated and talented engineer with strong hands-on experience of Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, and a proactive team player.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Package, deploy and manage applications and software solutions using Microsoft Intune.
• Configure, provision and maintain Windows desktops and laptops through Intune and Windows Autopilot.
• Manage mobile devices, including enrolment, configuration, compliance and security policies.
• Provide 2nd-line support for Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365 services and end-user applications.
• Work with external service providers and coordinate the resolution of complex incidents, escalating when required.
• Administer operating system and application deployments across desktops, laptops and Cloud PCs.
• Manage Windows updates, patching and compliance using Windows Autopatch.
• Plan and perform operating system upgrades to ensure devices remain secure and fully supported.
• Test, validate and coordinate the deployment of software patches and security updates.
• Maintain software inventories and licence management records.
• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot endpoint security solutions, including:
  • Microsoft Defender
  • CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager (EPM)
• Contribute to service improvements, automation initiatives and the maintenance of technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required skills and experience

• Application packaging, distribution and troubleshooting using Intune.
• Desktop OS configuration and deployment using Intune and Autopilot.
• Mobile device management using Intune.
• 2nd-level OS and end-user application support in a large organisation.
• Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID user and licence administration.

Desired skills and experience

• Jira for user incident support and reporting.
• Confluence for documentation and reporting.
• Windows 365 Cloud PC deployment and management.
• Batch and PowerShell scripting.
• Configuration and management of Conditional Access policies in Microsoft Entra ID.
