Position Description & Qualifications
Join our team to assist and prepare approximately 200,000 service members who separate annually from the United States Military to begin a new life chapter as a civilian.
The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning servicemembers through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP), which is offered worldwide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, and connect participants to approved government and non‑government partners.
Our team ensures servicemembers and their families have the necessary career tools and information to seamlessly transition into the civilian workforce.
- In This Role, You Will
- Teach and/or instruct military personnel transitioning to civilian professional and vocational occupations.
- Guide transitioning military service members in identifying goals and recognizing any employment or education gaps.
- Provide transitioning service members (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and veterans with a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, and credentialing.
- Assist in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools.
- Conduct small and large group instruction on the job search process.
- Deliver standardized curriculum via in‑person or virtual classrooms.
- Ensure completion and submission of classroom reports for their assigned Hub.
- Ensure all facilitators maintain training certifications and follow standardized curriculum.
- Observe and mentor new facilitators during delivery of standardized curriculum.
- Validate weekly and quarterly schedules of facilitation assignments.
- Proactively communicate concerns to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Coordinate travel assignments and adhere to travel expense policies for their assigned Hub.
- Report to a regional manager and attend weekly meetings (virtually).
- Be able to facilitate on short notice when emergent needs arise.
- Work and reside within the Hub assigned area.
- Additional Information
- Lead Facilitator is assigned a primary location within the hub that has satellite locations.
- Lead Facilitator is trained on the CORE DOL standardized curriculum and the other DOL TAP curricula; facilitators are expected to maintain certification.
- For facilitation assignments greater than 50 miles from the Lead’s primary location, travel will be reimbursed.
- Comprehensive training is provided and expected to be completed within the first month of employment.
- Typically, a Lead Facilitator will facilitate 2–3 days per week and is expected to respond to emergent facilitation assignments.
- Role
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Requires Bachelor’s degree; or
- An Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of recent specialized experience working as a Workforce Solutions or HR Specialist; or
- A major certification and six years of recent specialized experience; or
- A High School Diploma and eight (8) years of recent specialized experience.
- Experience as a classroom instructor.
- Experience that demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
- Knowledge of the workplace, jobs, and entry requirements for those jobs.
- Ability to provide standardized training to groups with up to 50 participants.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Effective communication with military clients and government representatives.
- Comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, observant of others, and able to professionally engage a diverse audience.
- May require extended hours, including weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
- Excellent time‑management skills, able to work independently and follow directions.
- Ability to respond to emergent facilitation assignments.
- Meet country‑specific employment requirements such as ECOPS.
- Must be able to perform all the skills/roles of other facilitators (higher‑level facilitation position).
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Actual base salary will be determined by various factors, including scope of the role, relevant experience, job‑related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations.
