Funeral Services, Cemeteries and Crematorium DepartmentFuneral Services Manager 100% (Fixed-term contract)The Funeral Services, Cemeteries and Crematorium Department of the City of Geneva (SPF) has the primary mission of providing, with dignity, for the funerals of persons deceased within the territory of the City, the canton of Geneva, as well as any person deceased in Switzerland or abroad. It assists grieving families and ensures the management of cemeteries and funeral facilities made available to the public. To strengthen the management of the SPF, we are looking for a Funeral Services Manager 100% (Fixed-term contract).Your mission- Manage the team of funeral advisors (recruitment, continuous training, periodic evaluations, etc.).- Carry out the team's schedule planning, check documents forming the basis for the payment of allowances, collect absence requests and ensure arbitration if necessary in compliance with current directives.- Guarantee optimal communication within the sector through regular meetings or by any other means and lead reflections on professional practices.- Ensure the application of and compliance with standards, directives, service regulations as well as instructions, procedures, conventions and protocols.- Ensure the proper delivery of services to families who call upon the SPF.- Evaluate and respond to internal and/or external correspondence, in the field of funeral services and propose a response to the head of department.- Manage relationships with partners external to the SPF, in particular through service agreements.- Carry out monitoring and prospecting regarding technological or other changes allowing for an improvement of services in favor of the various publics.- Assist management in the evolution of processes according to new services to be provided to families in the field of funeral services and guarantee a quality standard and the updating of referenced documents of the sector.- Represent the activities of the sector, or even the Service, within the framework of services to be provided to families or internal and external partners and respond to specific missions, in their field of competence, at the request of management.- Take part in management committee meetings.- Ensure, when necessary, the mission of funeral advisor and participate in the team's work, including during on-call duty (weekends/public holidays).Your profile- Federal diploma or equivalent, in the social field or human sciences.- Experience of at least 5 years in team management.- Demonstrate listening skills and empathy and know how to deal with an emotional context.- Master current software (Microsoft Office) and excel in the command of French, both oral and written.- A minimum experience of 3 years in the public sector, experience in the funeral field, mastery of SAP as well as fluent command of another language (English, Italian or German) constitute assets.- You reside in the canton of Geneva or in the authorized border zone.As part of its policy of equality between women and men, the City of Geneva wishes to promote diversity in all its services.Salary scale:Entry into service: As soon as possibleType of engagement: Fixed-termApplication deadline:The application file must contain the following elements:- Cover letter.- Detailed curriculum vitae or, failing that, completed Job Application form (to be downloaded from our website).- Copies of diplomas and work certificates.- Recent photo (passport format).Follow-up of applications:In the City of Geneva, the recruitment process is decentralized.
