HashiCorp-Stack Administrator (m/f/d)

We are looking for operational peers for our team to improve our hosting infrastructure. The infrastructure is used by the developers to deliver their software as a cloud service to the Serviceware customers.
Our hosting platform uses HashiCorp Nomad as the container scheduling solution and consequently uses the HashiCorp stack consisting of Consul and Vault as well. Due to the emerging criticality of these components, we are searching for expertise in handling these applications primarily, as well as the adjacent Linux systems and the surrounding tooling like Terraform and Ansible.

These tasks are waiting for you

• Take ownership of the HashiCorp stack, including HashiCorp Nomad, Consul, and Vault, which form the core components of our hosting platform.
• Manage and optimize the container scheduling solution using HashiCorp Nomad, ensuring efficient deployment and scaling of containerized applications.
• Safeguard the Consul service mesh, providing essential service discovery, configuration, and orchestration capabilities.
• Oversee critical data management using HashiCorp Vault, ensuring secure secrets management and robust encryption practices.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement strategies for optimizing the HashiCorp stack and associated Linux systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the HashiCorp tools, Linux systems, and surrounding tooling like Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor the performance and availability of the HashiCorp stack components, implementing proactive measures to ensure optimal operation.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in HashiCorp products and associated technologies.

What you have to offer

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies and experience with container orchestration using HashiCorp Nomad or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with service discovery and configuration management using Consul or comparable service mesh solutions.
• Experience in secrets management and encryption using HashiCorp Vault or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and staying updated with emerging technologies.
• Due to our international teammates, you should be able to communicate in a customer-oriented manner, fluently in English and ideally also in German.

Additional Plus

• Proficiency in Linux systems administration, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.
• Experience with cloud-based hosting platforms and infrastructure, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
