We are looking for an Interim Project Manager Planning Optimization to lead the optimization of planning processes across a European manufacturing network. You bring hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP and [S&R] implementations, and you know how to turn planning improvements into a system landscape that works in daily practice.

- Location: Primarily remote, with approximately 50% travel across European manufacturing sites

A leading international manufacturing company with over 20 production sites across Europe is running a program to optimize its planning processes. Ways of working currently differ from site to site. The company wants to bring planning onto a standardized, future-proof footing within SAP S/4HANA and SAP IBP. This role is about leading that change: from process design to implementation and adoption across the network.

What You Will Do
Project Leadership
- Lead the planning optimization project from design through implementation and go-live
- Set up the project structure, timeline, governance and steering committee reporting
- Manage internal stakeholders, key users and external implementation partners
- Monitor scope, timeline, budget and risks
Planning Processes & Systems
- Map as-is planning processes and design to-be standards across sites
- Translate the planning design into SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP and [S&R]
- Align demand, supply and production planning between central and local teams
- Define a KPI framework for planning performance (forecast accuracy, schedule adherence, inventory levels, MRP exceptions)
Change & Adoption
- Deliver workshops and training sessions across sites
- Ensure clear documentation, work instructions and knowledge transfer
- Define quick wins and a long-term roadmap through December 2027
Functie-eisen
Your Profile
- At least 8 years of experience in supply chain planning, including several years as a project manager in manufacturing environments
- Proven track record in SAP S/4HANA implementations and hands‑on experience with SAP IBP and S&R implementations
- Deep understanding of end-to-end planning processes (S&OP, demand, supply and production planning, MRP)
- Able to work both conceptually (process design) and operationally (hands‑on implementation)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working across all levels of the organization, from plant floor to executive leadership
- Experience managing external implementation partners in international, multi-site settings
- Fluent in English (all deliverables in English).
