Data Governance Lead
Location: Zurich
Start Date: October 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies and standards
- Establish Data Owner and Data Steward responsibilities across business functions
- Drive data quality management, monitoring and remediation activities
- Develop and oversee data governance forums and reporting structures
- Support metadata management and end-to-end data lineage initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and audit standards
- Partner with technology and architecture teams to improve data controls and transparency
- Lead data governance workstreams during post-migration stabilisation and transition to BAU
- Support future analytics, reporting and AI-driven initiatives through improved data management practices
Required Experience
- 8+ years' experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality or Enterprise Data programmes
- Prior experience in Banking & Financial Services environment
- Proven track record delivering governance initiatives within large-scale transformation, migration or strategic data programmes
- Experience defining and implementing data governance frameworks and control
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, ownership models and governance operating structures
- Ability to engage effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders
- Experience supporting audit, compliance and regulatory reviews
- IT skills:
- Data Governance & Data Catalog Tools (Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Alation, Ataccama)
- Data Quality Solutions (Informatica Data Quality, Ataccama, Talend Data Quality)
- Metadata & Data Lineage Management Platforms
- SQL and data analysis tools
- Enterprise data warehousing solutions
- Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Data Integration & ETL Tools
- Power BI or similar BI/Reporting solutions
- Jira & Confluence
- API & Data Integration Concepts
