Overview
Executive Coach position in Berlin, on-site, full-time.
We’re hiring an executive coach for Hendrik (CEO of Sharpist) for the next 12+ months as part of a category-defining transformation from a profitable coaching platform into an AI-driven category bet in professional development.
The coach is a key hire who helps Hendrik operate at a higher altitude, setting missions, building scalable systems, and stepping back from routine operational work.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the intellectual sparring partner to help implement the leadership shift and ensure the transformation sticks.
- Lead coaching engagements that center on executive development rather than advisory or operational work.
- Provide ongoing coaching to Hendrik with the aim of elevating his leadership, decisions, and personal operating system.
- Spar with Hendrik on strategic questions through coaching rather than prescribing solutions.
- Non-negotiables
- C-level operating experience in enterprise Saa S during the 10M+ ARR scale phase. Founder, CEO, COO, or equivalent.
- Not early-stage, not adjacent industries, not advisory-only careers. They must have personally lived the altitude shift targeted by this role.
- Expert coach whose primary craft is coaching — actively practicing, trained, certified, and not primarily an adviser.
- Track record coaching founders or CEOs through similar inflection points; ability to name them (under NDA) and provide references from current or recent coachees at this level.
- What we are not looking for
- Generalist executive coaches without enterprise Saa S context.
- Operators-turned-advisors with strong opinions on what Hendrik should do.
- Wellness, life, or holistic coaches.
- ICF-credential-only coaches without operating depth.
- Anyone who treats this as just another engagement rather than a transformation.
- Focus areas
- Move from leader-of-leads to true CEO altitude — football manager mode, not player.
- Build a personal operating system away from task-list-driven work.
- Interrupt the tendency to lean into operational work under stress.
- Design the team architecture around Hendrik — firefighter roles, accountability anchors, ownership transfer.
- Increase leverage and impact with the leadership team.
- Sustainable energy management.
- Spar through strategic coaching questions rather than prescriptions.
- Logistics
- Engagement: ongoing, likely 2–4 sessions per month.
- Format: preferably delivered via the Sharpist platform (using our product is a signal and research).
- Geography: irrelevant; we want the best person globally.
- Language: English as working language.
- Search posture
- This is an active, high-touch search.
We will source from operator and founder networks, vet ruthlessly against non-negotiables, run multiple candidates in parallel, and move fast once we find the right person.
- A first conversation with Hendrik should address: C-level enterprise Saa S experience through the 10M+ ARR scale-up, primary coaching craft today, ability to hold space and avoid prescribing, willingness to spend two sessions per month with Hendrik for 12 months, and engagement prioritization over other opportunities.
Notes: The right candidate is rare; we seek AAA+ in the market, not just the best among applicants.
