As the Team Lead for Product Operations within the Infrastructure Unit, you drive the evolution of Shopware’s CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and release management processes. You lead a cross-functional team that bridges infrastructure and development, ensuring efficient, reliable, and scalable software delivery. Your work promotes automation, engineering excellence, and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, or full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and will form the basis of your employment contract.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Product Ops team and its mission to optimize Shopware’s software delivery lifecycle.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and growth-oriented culture.
- Maintain and continuously evolve Shopware’s CI/CD pipeline, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable workflows across our products.
- Utilize automation tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, and ArgoCD to streamline processes and improve delivery speed.
- Oversee release management, ensuring deployments are smooth, timely, and of high quality.
- Contribute hands-on to PHP-based projects, maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and establish best practices in observability, incident management, and reliability.
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams, aligning technical solutions with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Continuously refine engineering processes, reducing bottlenecks and enhancing delivery performance.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and priorities clearly, ensuring transparency for stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure documentation, design specifications, and knowledge bases are properly created and maintained across the team.
Qualifications
- Over eight years of relevant professional experience, including at least two years in a team-lead or technical leadership role.
- Proven track record in CI/CD strategy, automation, and tooling – including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, and ArgoCD.
- Strong hands-on background in PHP to guide technical discussions and set high standards for development and testing practices.
- Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud environments such as AWS.
- Solid understanding of release management, version control, and deployment workflows.
- Excellent mentoring skills, empowering teams and fostering engineering excellence.
- Strategic mindset and data-driven problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for process optimization and long-term improvement.
- Clear and proactive communication, aligning technical initiatives with company goals and promoting cross-team collaboration.
