Employer alignment

The position may be on‑site, hybrid, or fully remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. The work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the cross‑company Developer Experience program, defining how developers build, extend and succeed with Shopware.
• Connect engineering, product, QA, DevRel, documentation, marketing, sales, and external contributors to ensure smooth delivery across initiatives that shape the future of our developer platform.
• Drive measurable improvements across product units and continuous delivery of value.
• Identify and mitigate risks early, maintain transparency on trade‑offs and delivery impact for all stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross‑departmental priorities to enable seamless collaboration.
• Link workstreams (APIs, SDKs, CLI tooling, documentation, sandbox environments) through a structured approach that creates a consistent and enjoyable developer journey.
• Lead workshops and alignment sessions to bring together internal teams, external partners and the community, fostering collective ownership of Developer Experience outcomes.
• Use data, GitHub insights, and AI‑powered tools to monitor progress, streamline collaboration, and uncover improvement opportunities early.
• Establish repeatable frameworks and lean delivery processes, helping teams stay focused, efficient and connected across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in software project or program management, technical leadership, or a comparable cross‑functional role.
• Strong technical fluency, systems thinking, and communication skills enabling connection of strategy and execution.
• Experience in engineering, DevOps or developer relations – ideally within open source, SaaS, or platform development.
• Solid understanding of modern development ecosystems (APIs, SDKs, CI/CD, developer tooling).
• Ability to translate roadmap goals into deliverable increments and measurable KPIs.
• Early identification of dependencies and risks, ensuring alignment and predictable delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
• Passion for open source collaboration and improvement of developer journey.
• Fluent English; German skills not required.
• Initial experience with e‑commerce platforms such as Shopware or Magento, leading developer tooling, CI/CD, API initiatives, or contributions to AI‑assisted development and modern SDK/CLI systems is a strong plus.
