A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Solution Architect Transformers (f/m/d) at Siemens Energy, you are responsible for the architecture, structuring tools and applications to sell, design, and manufacture transformers. You identify needs at stakeholder level and translate them into functional and non-functional product requirements, ensuring that the solution is aligned with user needs and business goals.

You determine the architectural direction and concept by assessing various possible technology alternatives and implementation approaches. This includes all technologies and their use, the structure of the solution in terms of its subsystems and so on.

You communicate the solution context to the agile release trains (ARTs), suppliers, and shared services to design and implement a viable solution. A sustainable solution architecture is the basis to strengthen Siemens Energy’s competitiveness.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Ensure strategy and funding of architectural initiatives for the global end-to-end process, creation of solution designs (digital threads) across all our architecture domains of transformers.
• Further development and optimization after successful implementation, which are in line with our corporate strategy.
• Align solution designs with the business requirements of our product managers and take into account the non-functional requirements within IT such as IT security and infrastructure in planning.
• Create the solution design taking the Siemens Energy Enterprise strategy into account.
• Technical leading and functionally managing cross-functional development teams by defining guardrails to keep development teams focused on delivering digital solutions to real customer problems based on the defined reference architecture.
• Contribute to the Siemens Energy transformer business in terms of quality, efficiency, and sustainability as part of the future-oriented digital solution management team.

What You Bring

• Completed a degree in (business) information technology or a comparable qualification in the IT environment.
• Several years of experience in software development/architecture or IT consulting.
• Experience with different frameworks (software designs, languages, and architectures) and the technical dimensioning of applications as well as in designing cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure scenarios taking middleware technology and IT security aspects into account.
• Experience with PaaS or SaaS services at one of the cloud service providers (Azure, AWS), ideally, in-depth knowledge of the digital thread for engineering-to-order business.
• Knowledge of process modeling methods and specialist topics, especially in the areas of finance and controlling.
• SAFE Product Manager certificate and experience in strategic planning is beneficial.
• Customer orientation, very good communication and listening skills in English.
