About the Role
As a Software (SW) Architect you are a major part of our mission "connecting efficient factories" and modernization of our current (engineering) tool landscape. You will build up, develop and lead a global development team to define methods and SW architectural concepts for global electrical and mechanical engineering tools. You make sure that we build on the most uniform and standardized components possible, so that we can provide new sustainable engineering solutions in a timely manner while keeping operational costs to a minimum. With your expertise you will also support the overall standardization and modernization of our tool landscape collaborating with other business areas within our global network. Your work actively contributes to a sustainable software development in line with Siemens Energy guidelines such as cyber security, SE IT development standards, etc. Their results lead to the strengthening our competitiveness by enabling the engineering in the sites to work more efficiently.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Defining guidelines for the development of Transformer software tools and actively shaping their development
- Leading and developing an international team of software experts
- Analyzing, rating and estimating business/user requirements as well as designing solutions in cooperation with the stakeholders and the project team
- Handing over and maintaining software components for in-house operation at the transformer production sites as well as performing user support
- Helping to improve the development methods and processes in a multi-cultural agile and highly skilled team
- Actively collaborating with teams from different departments and sites in an international environment
- Contributing to our business success in terms of quality, efficiency and sustainability
What You Bring
- Master's degree preferably in computer science or other relevant programs like physics, electrical or mechanical engineering and/or software engineering
- Long-term experience (10 + years) in developing mechanical and/or electromagnetic software components and applying them to non-standard end customer requests
- Expert knowledge of transformer portfolio, which relates to electrical and/or mechanical design processes and rules as well as related manufacturing technologies
- Expert knowledge of software architecture principles i.e., micro service architecture as well as object-oriented software programming, C++ or C# programming language
- Proficient communication skills in English are required as well as the willingness to travel internationally
- Experience in project management and leading a team as well as in software development projects and tools i.e., GIT workflow and continuous integration and deployment
- Knowledge in ERP systems preferable
