We will achieve this togetherWithin the Energy and Industrial Ecology DirectorateInstrument Technician - Wastewater TreatmentWe will achieve this togetherWithin the Energy and Industrial Ecology Directorate, the Wastewater (WW) activity is responsible for transporting and treating wastewater from the canton and the cross-border region, and then discharging it into the environment. The WW activity ensures this role in compliance with federal and cantonal water laws and based on cantonal regulations. While our core business will always remain water treatment, our current and future challenges are significant and essential for ambitious environmental and sustainable development goals (treatment of micropollutants, biogas production, solar PV production, thermal recovery from wastewater and sludge, reduction of CO2 emissions). In addition, there are technological challenges that we must meet to improve our methods, such as AI-assisted predictive maintenance or the optimization of our processes using digital twins.As an Instrument Technician - Wastewater Treatment, your mission will be to ensure the reliability and continuity of the measurement and analysis systems of the Canton's WW facilities, by guaranteeing data quality, diagnosing malfunctions, optimizing processes with the operator, and conducting technological monitoring.Energy at the service of a sustainable GenevaWithin your scope, you will be responsible for:- Ensuring the proper functioning, upkeep, and maintenance of the measurement and analysis systems of the Canton's WW facilities;- Contributing to the continuous improvement of measurement systems and associated processes;- Guaranteeing the quality, reliability, and consistency of analyses and measurement tools, as well as the monitoring and archiving of data throughout the year;- Diagnosing malfunctions and ensuring the link between analyses and processes in interaction with the operator to optimize settings and performance;- Ensuring active technological monitoring in your field of expertise.Your personality and skillsYou demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, a spirit of synthesis, as well as availability and versatility. Your team spirit and communication skills allow you to collaborate effectively with the various stakeholders. You demonstrate a good ability to adapt to technical developments and possess very good knowledge of measuring devices and analytical monitoring of industrial facilities. You are able to control and diagnose the quality of treatments and interact with the operator in order to modify and optimize settings. You keep yourself informed of the evolution of measurement processes and new standards.Your academic backgroundYou hold a Bachelor's degree from a University of Applied Sciences (HES), a degree in chemical engineering, a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a laboratory technician (chemistry/physics) or in mechanics. You have more than 5 years of experience in industry or in a similar position, ideally in the field of wastewater treatment.
