ph3Position Overview /h3 pWe are looking for an experienced bPL/SQL Database Developer /b to join an internal technology team in Geneva supporting a business critical enterprise platform. /p pThe role combines hands on database development, data modelling, application enhancement and direct interaction with business users. You will work on a mature Oracle based environment containing complex business logic and large volumes of operational data. /p pA significant part of the position will involve understanding existing processes and data structures, developing new functionality and contributing to the integration of systems following a recent business acquisition. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign and develop new functionality within a core Oracle based business application /li liTranslate operational requirements into appropriate data models and technical solutions /li liDevelop and optimise database logic using bSQL and PL/SQL /b /li liMaintain, troubleshoot and improve existing application modules /li liWork directly with business users to understand requirements and resolve application issues /li liProvide day to day application support and guidance to users /li liContribute to a major bsystem and data integration initiative /b involving another business environment /li liParticipate in frequent releases and continuous improvements of the platform /li liBuild a strong understanding of the existing data model and underlying business logic /li liPotentially contribute to the longer term modernisation and migration of parts of the technology stack /li /ul h3Technical Environment /h3 pThe current environment is primarily based on: /p ul liPL/SQL and advanced SQL /li /ul pExposure to bC#, C++ or Python /b would be useful as the technology landscape continues to evolve. /p h3Candidate Profile /h3 ul liDegree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline /li liAt least b3 years of experience /b in database development, database engineering or a comparable user facing technical position /li liStrong practical experience with bSQL and relational data modelling /b /li liGood knowledge of bPL/SQL /b, or strong experience with another procedural database language such as T SQL /li liAbility to understand complex data structures and translate business processes into database solutions /li liComfortable working directly with users and investigating both functional and technical issues /li liIndependent and pragmatic approach, while being comfortable working within a collaborative development team /li liStrong communication skills and professional fluency in bEnglish /b /li liExperience with bOracle Forms /b, transaction intensive business applications, financial or trading environments would be advantageous. /li liFrench is useful but not required. /li /ul h3Location /h3 pPredominantly office based, with bone day of remote work per week /b. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
