Sigmund Freud Private University (SFU) is the largest state‑recognized private university in Austria with its headquarters in Vienna and campuses in Berlin, Linz, Ljubljana, Milan and Paris. Faculty of Medicine The following position is available immediately at the Center for Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine (SFU MED):
Professorship of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (f/m/d) The SFU MED stands for a modern, scientifically sound and practice‑oriented education. The studies of human medicine and dentistry at SFU are closely interlinked with theory and clinical practice in an integrative overall concept.
We are looking for a high‑profile personality with outstanding scientific and didactic qualifications to represent and actively develop the field of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery in teaching, research and patient care.
Areas of responsibility
Representation of the entire specialty in teaching and research, in particular
Organization and implementation of courses
Further development of teaching, particularly in terms of the integrative teaching concept
Preparation and supervision of examinations
Supervision of Master's theses
Further development of the PhD program, supervision of PhD students and promotion of young scientists
Integration of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery into the Faculty's key research areas
Development and implementation of research projects and acquisition of third‑party funding
Active collaboration and further development in the Center for Surgery
Cooperation in teaching and research with the relevant (clinical) cooperation partners of the SFU
Willingness for inter- and multidisciplinary cooperation
Motivation and ability to lead employees
Requirements profile
Completed domestic or equivalent foreign university education in human medicine
Specialist in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery or equivalent university education
Habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements
Teaching experience in the field of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at university institutions
Outstanding, internationally visible scientific qualifications in the specialist field
Successful management of research projects with acquisition of third‑party funding
Experience abroad
Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation
Social and communication skills, management experience
General conditions Employment is on a permanent basis in Vienna and is subject to the provisions of the Austrian Salaried Employees Act.
Remuneration is in accordance with the guidelines of the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna. There is a willingness to overpay in line with the market according to qualifications and professional experience.
