In this role, you will work on the development, verification, validation and certification of safety-critical aircraft systems. Your technical focus will be on Flight Control Systems (ATA 27B) and Hydraulic Power Systems (ATA 29). You will combine strong systems engineering expertise with experience in airworthiness, certification, verification & validation and system safety assessment.
Become part of our team – in a permanent internal position as a Senior Aircraft Systems & Certification Engineer (m/f/d) at our location in Bremen, with the following responsibilities:
- Analyse, develop and assess aircraft systems, particularly in the areas of ATA 27B – Flight Controls and ATA 29 – Hydraulic Power
- Support the development and verification of flight control and high-lift systems, including their electrical and hydraulic actuation and control systems
- Analyse and assess hydraulic systems, including system architecture, pressure generation, pressure regulation and energy distribution
- Evaluate display, warning and monitoring functions of the relevant aircraft systems
- Perform and assess Verification & Validation (V&V) activities
- Support and perform System Safety Assessments (SSA), including the evaluation of system functions, failure cases and their impact on flight safety
- Support certification activities and prepare, review and assess technical certification evidence and documentation
- Analyse and implement airworthiness and certification requirements
- Prepare and review technical specifications, verification evidence and certification documentation
- Support the assessment of failure modes, safety requirements and system-level failure conditions
- Coordinate technically with Development, Systems Engineering, Safety, Test and Certification teams
- Independently analyze complex technical issues and derive appropriate measures
- Support technical reviews and the preparation of evidence for internal and external stakeholders
PROFILE
- University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a comparable technical field
- Several years of professional experience in the aerospace or aircraft engineering environment
- Solid experience with Flight Control Systems (ATA 27B) and/or Hydraulic Power Systems (ATA 29)
- Experience in the development, verification, validation, certification or safety assessment of aircraft systems
- Knowledge of airworthiness and certification requirements, as well as experience with related processes and compliance documentation
- Experience with Verification & Validation (V&V) and/or System Safety Assessment (SSA)
- Strong understanding of system functions, failure cases and their impact on flight safety
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical evidence and certification documentation
- Experience with safety-critical aircraft systems and related development and certification processes is an advantage
- Ability to independently analyze, assess and clearly document complex technical issues
- Very good English skills and good German skills
